Redstone Veterinary Hospital was originally started in October of 1995 by Mark J. Ryan, DVM The name was chosen from the way the morning sun lights up the red sandstone formations of Colorado National Monument in the west end of the Grand Valley. When Redstone Veterinary Hospital was started, it was a one-doctor practice. Today, Redstone has two full-time and two part-time veterinarians. We also work with specialists in surgery, neurosurgery, and neurology. Redstone has two certified veterinary technicians and a fully experienced staff to make sure you and your pet receive the quality care you deserve.
Redstone Veterinary Hospital is a full-service medical, surgical and dental facility, featuring digital full-body and dental radiographs, ultrasound, CO2 laser surgery, single-port laparoscopic and endoscopic capability. We support and work with many animal assistance programs including: Roice Hurst Humane Society, Mesa County Animal Services, Pets 4 Vets, C.L.A.W.S., Community Cat Care, and Mesa County 4H. The doctors at Redstone also believe firmly in the value of education and invite students from veterinary technical programs and local high schools to learn more about veterinary medicine in our hospital. Members of our staff serve on multiple boards including Mesa County Animal Services, the Veterinary Technology Program at Colorado Mountain College, Grand Valley Emergency Center, and the Grand Valley Medical Society.

We were referred to Dr. Peter Maguire by our vet for immediate surgery on our Dachshund, Daisy on a Saturday. Dr. Maguire agreed to do the surgery postponing his road trip to NY for several hours before leaving for Australia. He took the time to consult with us letting us know he would do the surgery but would not be able to supply after-care and transferred that to our regular vet. However, he called regularly for several weeks to make sure how Daisy was progressing. He is AMAZING! Daisy came through the surgery well and has made a speedy recovery. In fact, you wouldn't even know she had it except that her coat is still growing back. The incision is as straight as an arrow and quite long; his hands must be quite steady as that type of surgery would require. I would give Dr. Maguire 10 stars!
The staff at Redstone were all helpful, professional and friendly. The facility is beautiful. We would consider using Redstone except that we love our vet Dr. Steven TerLouw at the Animal Medical Clinic.

The staff at Redstone Veterinary Hospital is top notch. With three medium-sized dogs, one of whom is diabetic, we are at the vet's office relatively often. Everyone there always takes wonderful care of our girls! We wouldn't take them anywhere else.

We feel very fortunate to have found Redstone Vet Hospital when moving to Grand Junction. Dr. McDaneld treats all three of my dogs as if they are her own. Fritz loves visiting her probably the most because he came to our lives with some medical issues. Dr. Mcdaneld does not only care about the medical treatment of animals but also of their quality of life. Thanks to all of you.

Both the staff at Redstone Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Pete McGuire, especially, exceeded all possible expectations. Dr. McGuire spent an hour with my special needs puppy in an attempt to diagnose / develop a diagnostic plan for Buffalo and a potential treatment, based on present testing results and future testing.
I found Dr. McGuire to be sensitive, human, real, professional, and uncannily intuitive in his relationship with Buffalo. Yes, I'd recommend Redstone Veterinary Hospital, and am so happy to count Redstone and Dr. McGuire among my resources.
