I am on a road trip from Kansas to Minnesota with my two young daughters. Our truck started acting funny & making a grinding noise. I called Ron's to see if they could help! They sent someone to me to check it out!! It needed to be towed, they took care of that. Richard also packed both my kids & myself up & drove us to a hotel for the night! Turns out to be wheel bearings & they will have me back on the road in the morning. I am forever grateful!! These are the kind of folks you want to have around when this kind of stuff happens! Thank you so much!!!
We are so thankful that our family could help your family! Have a safe trip. Richard and Lisa Martens, Owners

I wanted to comment on the unfortunate failure of the recharging of the air conditioning of my 1990 Ford Taurus station wagon. No pressure check was done, and despite having to pay around $100 for the recharging, the cold air lasted just one day. My wife and I roasted in the car for seven hours in nearly 100-degree heat from Ames to Northwest Indiana and then back to Ames two weeks later in blistering heat. The trip was very uncomfortable as a result. It would have been nice to know with more certainty that the air conditioning could not hold the freon before having to pay so much for basically nothing. Other than that, everything was expensive for such an old car of little value but the repairs were necessary and the service was very good.

Lied to me about a warranty on a part installed on my vehicle. The part is still under warranty but of course the labor is not! It's hard to believe they would lie to me and risk bad publicity. I thought this was the only honest auto repair shop left in Ames, but today they proved me wrong.
Our warranty is 2 yrs./24,000 miles as stated on every invoice that leaves our building.

Friendly staff, great service, gets the job done right. I trust them which isn't a word I throw around lightly. They always make time for me and know me by name. If any one I know has a car problem, I refer them to Ron's. Richard and Lisa are always a pleasure to see, even in the circumstance of broken down car. Try them out - you won't regret it!
Thank you, Cassandra. We sure enjoy you as well.

My old car needed brake work done. I dropped it off during the weekend and dropped the keys into the drop slot. They called me right away on Monday morning with a thorough diagnosis both of the problem that I knew about (a fluid leak) and other things that were about to "go" (an old, cracked brake hose, plus other worn parts).
I've been taking our cars to Rons for several years and they always do a good, thorough job of diagnosis and fixing both the primary problem and giving the choice of fixing other pending problems. I've never had any complaint about their service - and my old Buick has over 200,000 miles, and is still going.
Thank you! We appreciate you as a customer and your business.

Had two new tires mounted. Afterwards I noticed one had a slow leak around the rim. Brought the car back in and they dismounted, cleaned the inside of the wheels again, and remounted free of charge with no questions asked. They take their service warranty seriously.

They were fast, professional, and really cared. It takes a lot for me to trust an auto shop, as I have had problems with other places in the past ( being screwed over, basically). But not Ron's. I would recommend them to anyone I know, and I will go back there in the future!
Thank you, we take pride in helping our customers with there automotive needs. Lisa and Richard Martens, owners

I think they did a good job regarding fixing the problem in my car. I would have appreciated more if they explained more about the problem and the part they fixed etc.
Thank you for letting us know. We will work on this, your comment can only help us to service our customer better.

I have used Ron's for almost fifteen years. They are honest, fair, fast, and very open about problems with the car. At the same time, they do not try to sell you needless services. Highly recommended.
Thank you for such a nice comment. We are planning to be here for you the next 15 years as well.
