I am exceptionally pleased with the service I have been provided at Salon Vox. I have been coming to this Salon since mid-November of 2017 and have loved it since the first day. The person working the desk (who sometimes is one of the owners) is always very welcoming and helpful. They provide you with a (non-alcoholic) beverage when you arrive.
The ambiance of the salon is superb. Always clean, of course. The ceilings are high, so it feels very open... and there is an attractive open staircase going to who-knows-what (?) upstairs. The decor is beautiful and they had a HUGE Christmas tree this past year that was brilliantly decorated. It looked more like a New Year's tree -- I loved it.
My stylist -- Candy -- is phenomenal and coming in to see her once a month is an absolute treat! She does an amazing job with cut, color (a balayage pro!), and extensions! I recommend her highly and without any reservation! She also is very easy to talk to -- extensions take some time to put in and to move up, so it's important to have a stylist with whom you feel comfortable chatting with for hours. She's warmhearted and exceptionally talented at her craft -- what more could you ask for?
I haven't worked with one of the other stylists, but from watching how they interact with their clients, it would seem that the entire crew is great. The owners are wonderful, too.
Regarding price, I would say that it is about what you would expect for an upscale salon in Ann Arbor --- I think it was a bit more than a somewhat comparable salon (also in Ann Arbor) to get my extensions in the first time, but getting them "moved up" each month is $20 cheaper than that same other salon, so I think it ends up being a wash. I haven't compared their service menus, though.
Another thing that likely is attractive to many people is that they are open quite late for a salon! In fact, I think I read somewhere that they have a live DJ on Thursday evenings (when they are open until 10pm). My schedule is flexible, so I generally come in much earlier in the day which is more convenient for me. So, unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to check that out.
