Your service tech came promptly on 1/20 at 10 am, as promised. He did his work efficiently and left at 10:20. This part was fine. The bill is not.
We paid a service call fee of $79.95, which seems steep but is probably standard. The charge of $203.94 for installation of a "digital Honeywell thermostat" is incomprehensible.
The digital, non-programable Focus Pro 5000 is not on the Honeywell Store website, but all thermostats in this category cost $29.99 or less. Your service tech's time was billed at 75 minutes: 10-11:15. I assume this was an error. Allowing for a doubling of the retail cost -- which I hope you agree would be extreme -- the work was billed at about $115/hour. If we are billed only for the time worked, the hourly rate is about $432/hr.
