Pediatric Dentistry and Dr. Mac have embraced the concept of the "Dental Home". This means that your child's dental care is delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible manner by a licensed dentist. Practically, it emphasizes the age one dental visit to begin early preventive care. This visit includes oral hygiene and dietary instructions, determining the child's risk for early decay, application of fluoride if necessary and determining a recall schedule. Even though it emphasizes the age one visit, the dental home begins at whatever age you start taking your child to the dentist.
