feel very confident coming to Arthur's Auto Repair. This mechanic was spoken of glowingly by two friends, one of whom is a neighbor that I have known for about 55 years. When I needed a good, caring, honest mechanic for my pickup truck, I simply made an appointment with Arthur. My friends recommendations were absolutely on target. I had an issue with a squeal on braking that was emitted from the vehicle after it had been driven for 10 miles, and only after it had been driven that long. The dealership was very rude and literally told me to get lost. The implication was that I am female and its a pickup truck and I was just being a "pill" and was told "pickup trucks are noisy". (Once you've driven a vehicle for eight years you have a pretty good idea of what is abnormal behavior for it.) Arthur had the exact opposite reaction. He did drive the truck over 10 miles and sure enough, there was the squeal on braking. He called the shop so other mechanics could come out as he drove past and tell him which wheel they heard squealing. He put the truck up on the lift and one front wheel was much more reluctant to turn than the other. I had said that I felt it was a seized brake caliper, and Arthur told me that that was exactly what it was.
I have been bringing my truck to Arthur's ever since and am very pleased with the level of care that both the truck and I have gotten! I have always felt that the prices were fair for what is being done and that the work done was always excellent. I feel confident in the shop as the staff takes many continuing education classes to maintain their skill levels.
