Very disappointing. Technician came on Tuesday afternoon and told me that the motor had to be replaced. It turned out to be a very costly repair. But, I agreed to do it. He said he would order the parts from the supplier and come and fix the furnace on Thursday. He ten called me on Thursday and told me that the supplier gave him the wrong part. He finally came on Friday afternoon and fixed it. It took him less than an hour to replace it.
In the meantime, I did a little bit of research and realized that I should have gotten a second opinion. I understand that the part that needed to be replaced could be costly. But, I still do not know how much it costs!!
The technician never told me how much was for the motor and how much for the labor, just that it was a "set price". Very opaque.
I learned my lesson. Next time I will go with the Trane authorized repair company. They will likely have the parts in stock, and hopefully I will be able to know how much I am paying in parts, and how much in labor.
