This was to be a very special gift given to me by a dear friend and I was looking forward to my 80 min, deep tissue massage. I tried to schedule my appointment online but never received a response. After that I called and scheduled the appointment and was told to arrive at 4:14 in order to prepare for the massage to begin at 4:30 on Sat. 5/20. I live in the Cambrian area of SJ and as soon as I hit traffic in LG at 4pm, I called the spa desk. The accident on 17 brought street traffic to a complete stop. I parked my car 10 blocks away and then moved quickly to get to the spa. When I arrived it was 4:32 and when I let the front desk know about the bad accident on 17 causing standstill traffic, a woman behind the desk stated that the traffic is not due to an accident and it is always this way in LG every weekend. I felt dismissed and then I was taken to a change room which took more time. When I was met by the Cicly, she informed me that my massage was going to be only 70 minutes. I expressed my concern and offered to reschedule on another day. She said that wasn't possible. After that most of the massage was good, however, there was very loud radio music outside and loud music in the massage room itself perhaps to mask the outside noise? It didn't make for a comfortable quiet massage.
I am very disappointed to never get an online response to my initial appointment request, by the misinformation from the scheduler regarding the actual start time and then by the inflexibility of the massage therapist regarding 10 minutes. A $185 massage for only 70 minutes is exorbitant. It would have been much better customer service to have been clear about the traffic accident, the online scheduling problem, the misinformation regarding massage start time and to have allowed the massage to be the full 80 minutes. To have quibbled over 10 minutes was poor form as was the dismissal of my accounting of the traffic dilemma.
