I don't like these guys, and I regret listeninng to the home builder (Ryan Homes) and not researching more options when choosing a home security provider. Unfortunately, I feel like I was taken advantage of as a first time homebuyer, and got locked into a 5-year agreement. I've spent the last 5 years paying too much for too little service. I had to pay hundreds of dollars for extra equipment to get the system to work, and I'm not even sure what it really does. The equipment that came installed is in really inconvenient to use places, and we really don't see any value in the services they offer. Their customer service is often times difficult to work with, and my wife and I can't wait to get out of our contract. I even thought I was getting a deal, with the contract being for 5 years of service, and the equipment would be for free. Turns out 4 years later, I find out "not really", I was paying a higher than normal monthly rate that included extra money for the equipment.
Of course, last time I had this conversation with a customer representative this summer, letting them know I wanted to make sure my contract didn't renew at the end of this year, she informed me that she couldn't do that, and I would have to contact them in writing if I didn't want to renew my contract. This is obviously because they're hoping I forget to do that, and they can lock be into another year or overpriced and poor service. If you're a Ryan Home owner in the Richmond area, please, please do your research. Don't blindly go with Trinity because that's what Ryan recommended as a "prefered partner". You'll definitely regret it.
I don't like these guys, I don't trust these guys and I end every conversation with them feeling creeped out.
