I have been using Alexandria Animal Hospital for 10-15 years. It is a hospital comprised of 16 veterinarians, I believe. They have grown and evoled some over the years and I have not had any bad experiences with this hospital. On the contrary, I appreciate the level of professionalism and knowledge I observe when I take my pet ( Hunter, dog) there for treatment, care and routine exams. I am a nurse with 30 years of experience which gives me some insight into their process which, I admit, is beneficial. I like their thoroughness and I appreciate that some of the vets on staff are open to treating conservatively and even alternative ways of treating.
I have had to euthanize a beloved pet at this hospital also and was treated with respect and compassion when that occurred.
This hospital is particularly important to have nearby when you have an emergency! It functions as regular hospital up until 8 pm at which time it switches to seeing all patients as an emergency facility. Prices for treatment change after 8 pm to reflect this transition. I am grateful to have the emergency services nearby and have no problem with that.
I just had my dog’s teeth cleaned and examined, yesterday. Dr. Baxter and the tech team did a great job and treated me well, as always. Despite my medical background, I tend to worry quite a bit.
This practice is sometimes busy, like any medical practice, and you will have to pay for services at the time rendered. But that is normal and to be expected. My interactions with front office staff has been positive, and they frequently show much compassion as you talk with them.
Yes, I do recommend Alexandria Animal Hospital.
