My dental visit went as well as to be expected for a dental visit. Dr. Washburn and his staff seem like an old fashioned dental office that cares about its patients. I know dentists want to make a lot of money, but I sincerely hope that Dr. Washburn's office doesn't become like other dental offices - all they care about is the money and demand it before doing any procedures, they don't know the patients' names or issues, they have 20 assistants for 3 dentists because the cash cow is cleanings-doing as many as possible. I hope all these positive reviews doesn't grow this office too fast and cause it to become like other dental offices with all the negatives I mentioned.
As for my experience, the lady with the braces called me by name when I walked in and always is so friendly. The assistant who did my work seemed very knowledgeable and trustworthy when it came to my complex procedure. The office didn't feel sterile or horror movie scary. Though I hate Barbara Walters and the VIEW, I can deal with them if it will help the dental experience be less taxing.
What struck me as odd as the lack of hostility regarding payment up front. The last dental office that was not a pleasant experience demanded payment up front even though I had been a patient for 5 years and they were hostile with the demand. I actually felt weird that a dental office was not hounding me for money.
If this dentist is as capable as I think he is, I hope he doesn't change the way he does things.
