I was referred to Wilkinson Animal Hospital by my neighbor. We have recently moved from Minnesota and did not have a vet. Facility looked great apart from the dog poop as you walked in. There were 4 ladies sitting at the front desk and not one of them acknowledged me. Took me 10 minutes of sitting down with my cat to realize there was a small sign asking you to sign in. At that point i was given a chart to fill out. When someone finally took the chart and began to register us in the system, i was sitting down again. There were 3 other people waiting to be seen. One of the 4 "attendants" asked me what was wrong with my cat, and did not even look me in the eye as she was talking to me, across the room. Then someone came and took my cat away. Once signed in it took 50 minutes before we were seen by the vet. Various diagnosis were discussed and at that point i was told that they had already taken a blood and urine sample from my cat. Not only was i going to be charged for this, but the samples were taken WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. Before i had a final diagnosis, was given a breakdown of charges with a "range" - my cats visit was going to cost between $485 and $585 and did i approve this. within minutes of the finance person showing me these charges the vet came back with a diagnosis of Diabetes. My final bill was $693.19, $176 of this being for insulin that you can buy at Costco, Walmart and on line for around $100. To say i feel like i was "ripped off" is an understatement. Will definitely be shopping around for other vet services in the area who don't charge quite so much.

Entire staff were extremely nice. Facility was clean. Office called the next day to make sure my pet was doing good and to see if I had any other questions.

You are the best vet clinic I have found in Gastonia. Your doctors are thorough, gentle,

and knowledgeable in their exams. Pippin had never had a thorough exam since he was

3 months old, until I found Wilkinson. Plus the entire staff is friendly and helpful. Thank

I decided to switch vet practices. It wasn't an easy decision but after my first visit with Wilkinson Animal Hospital I feel I made the right decision. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. They even stayed after hours to make sure I was given all the time I needed to understand what was going on with my dog. Staff seems extra friendly and great customer service seems to be harder and harder to find these days.
